Noteworthy comment: This study aimed to build a predictive model of unplanned readmissions within 30 days of an initial COPD-caused hospitalization. Reducing avoidable hospital readmissions is a quality improvement and cost containment strategy that receives much attention from both public and private payers in all countries.
