This paper has been retracted.

Chen K, Yu T, Wang X. Int J Nanomedicine. 2021;16:371–381.

At the authors request, the Editor and Publisher of the journal International Journal of Nanomedicine have retracted the published article.

The corresponding authors informed the journal that approval from the Laboratory Animal Management Committee at Tongji Hospital, Tongji University School of Medicine, was not received prior to performing the animal experiments, despite a statement contrary to this being used in the article. The authors wished to apologize for this oversight and given the situation, the authors no longer have confidence in the normalization of the animal experiment process and corresponding results. To maintain academic standards, the authors requested to retract the article and the Editor and Publisher agreed with this decision.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our editorial policies and COPE guidelines.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted”.
