Dr. Nune obtained his PhD from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, LA, with a focus on nanostructured medical devices. Currently, he is working as a Senior Biomedical Materials Engineer at Medtronic Cardiac Rhythm Management, located in Mounds View, MN, USA.

Dr. Nune's research interests focus on application of Materials Science to Biomedical Engineering, particularly nanostructured biomaterials, surface modifications, heat treatment, additive manufacturing, bone tissue engineering, and biocompatibility of metal alloys and polymeric medical devices. His expertise extends to material and chemical characterization, biological and toxicological evaluation of medical devices. He helped develop heat treatment strategies to Laser and electron beam printed 3D parts. He has more than 14 years of research experience and specializes in biological and toxicological risk assessment of blood separation devices, orthopedic and cardiac medical devices.

He has served as a peer-reviewer for several Chemical, Materials, and Biomedical journals. As a member of prestigious professional organizations within his field, Dr. Nune brings valuable insights and expertise.
