Thomas Ahern is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Surgery and Biochemistry at the University of Vermont’s Robert Larner, MD College of Medicine. He earned his PhD in epidemiology at the Boston University School of Public Health in 2010 and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in cancer epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Dr. Ahern's research focuses on pharmaceutical and molecular factors and their impact on breast cancer incidence and survival. Dr. Ahern also collaborates on developing quantitative methods for addressing bias in epidemiologic research. He enjoys teaching epidemiologic methods and mentoring students at all levels.
